Eduardo Cortes

Biography

Eduardo Cortes is a senior portfolio manager for the Global Fixed Income team at Allspring Global Investments. He joined Allspring from GIA Partners, LLC, where he served as the chief executive officer and chief investment officer, with responsibility for portfolio construction, asset allocation, security selection, and risk management. Prior to the establishment of GIA, Eduardo founded GIA’s predecessor company, Global Investment Advisors, which became a division of Reich & Tang Asset Management, LLC. Before that, he worked at JPM and JPMIM, where he was a portfolio manager in the fixed income group. At JPMIM, he was responsible for dollar and non-dollar fixed income portfolios, and he created and led the emerging market debt portfolio team. Prior to joining JPMIM, he worked on debt restructuring for Latin American sovereigns at Citibank, where he began his investment industry career in 1991. Eduardo earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is fluent in Spanish.
