Biography

Hamburg Tang, Jr., is a senior analyst and portfolio manager for the Global Fixed Income team at Allspring Global Investments. He joined Allspring from GIA Partners, LLC, where he served as a managing director and portfolio manager, focusing on emerging market strategy and generating ideas for portfolios investing in U.S. and non-U.S. companies. He covered multiple industries including auto, airline, industrial, and retail/consumer credits. Prior to joining GIA, he was a senior emerging market credit analyst at JPMIM. Before JPMIM, Hamburg worked for J.P. Morgan Securities Asia, Ltd., in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for debt origination for Asian- based issuers. He began his investment industry career in 1988. Hamburg earned a bachelor’s degree in East Asian studies from Harvard University, a master’s degree in international management from The Joseph Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He speaks Mandarin.
