Ann Miletti highlights the critical role of active management in navigating equity markets, emphasizing the importance of focusing on company fundamentals amid market concentration and macro-driven trends.

Transcript

Cameron Pickoski: We're here in Fort Lauderdale this week at our National Sales Summit, where the theme is “Charting the Course.” With that in mind, we wanted to talk to you, Ann, a little bit about navigating investing in today's markets, and, more specifically, what are you seeing in the equity markets today that really reinforces the importance of active management?

Ann Miletti: I think one of the things that we're seeing is a lot of focus on the macro, and certainly there's a lot of concentration in the market as well. And when you're in a bull market with those stocks working, there's less of a focus on what truly makes a company successful. What we do know is fundamentals matter for long-term results, so I think that's where active management really plays an important role, especially as markets become more volatile.
