Matt Wittmer

Biography

Matthew (Matt) Wittmer is a portfolio manager for the Empiric LT Equity team at Allspring Global Investments. In this capacity, he is the lead portfolio manager for the LT Large Cap Fundamental Dividend strategy and a portfolio manager for the LT Large Cap Fundamental Equity strategy. He also covers the consumer discretionary, consumer staples, communication services, utilities, and energy sectors. He joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). Prior to joining WFAM, Matthew served in the same capacity as a senior vice president and portfolio manager within Wells Fargo Wealth Management. Earlier roles include co-managing a global equity income product, working as an equity research analyst for Piper Jaffray covering the consumer retail industry, and working as a senior consultant for RSM McGladrey and Pullen where he provided consulting services to clients in the financial services industry. He began his investment industry career in 2000. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Olaf College.
